CapitalWave Inc. Technology Enabled Learning

CapitalWave for universities

Practical technology for your finance curriculum.

Bring financial analysis and market operations into the classroom with products that let students explore assumptions, practice decisions, and explain results. Your faculty own the course; CapitalWave supplies the technology.

Discuss your requirements Get your evaluation pack

Fit the course

Choose tools for fixed income, derivatives, portfolios, equities, or post-trade operations.

Structure the activity

Use the selected platform’s labs, exercises, and cohort features alongside your own teaching materials.

Review the evidence

Discuss the available learner reports, assessment tools, and exports for the products you select.

Your audience evaluation pack

Evaluate the fit for your finance curriculum

A faculty and program-team worksheet for choosing a learning outcome, trying a representative activity and reviewing evidence before a wider rollout.

Download the universities pack (PDF)

Bring the course lead, a teaching assistant or instructor, and the institutional owner of access and procurement.

Choose the product around the outcome

For facilitated trading and market experiences, explore CapitalCMS, CapitalFITS, CapitalFTS and CapitalPMS and confirm delivery arrangements.

A suggested evaluation activity

Teach the price-yield relationship

Start with the fictional three-year bond in the CapitalFIA worked example. Ask learners to price the same cash flows at 5% and 6% yield, explain the direction of change, and distinguish exact repricing from an approximation. Suggested planning time: 30-45 minutes; adapt to course level.

Try the public example
  1. Map the activity to one course outcome and state the prerequisites.
  2. Inspect the public example, then ask for the corresponding full-product workflow in a demonstration.
  3. Ask a representative learner to explain the result and an instructor to review the evidence.
  4. Record gaps, access requirements and an agreed decision before planning deployment.

What evidence would support a decision?

Curriculum fit

Learners can connect the task to the chosen course outcome and identify its assumptions.

Evidence and assessment

Faculty can review calculations and reasoning; confirm which reports and exports the selected release actually supplies.

Teaching workflow

Inspect instructor setup, learner instructions, cohort arrangements and how feedback is reviewed.

Practical access

Check institutional devices, accessibility needs, student and instructor numbers, term dates and expected concurrent use.

Bring these questions

  • Which course, learner level and prerequisite knowledge are in scope?
  • Who owns grading, learner support and access administration?
  • What instructor views, reports or exports must be demonstrated?
  • What access period, procurement review and data requirements must a proposal cover?

Record the next step

In your downloaded worksheet, record the product, outcome, evidence observed, open questions, decision owner and next review. Choose whether to proceed, resolve gaps or defer. Agree access and commercial scope before wider use.

Faculty retain course design, grading and competency decisions. These materials do not claim complete CFA Program coverage or CFA Institute approval. Confirm product-specific access and capabilities before enrolling students.

Plan an evaluation conversation

Suggested activities use fictional inputs. This pack is an evaluation worksheet, not a product license, compliance attestation or guarantee of availability.

Practical implementation

From course objective to classroom activity.

Use a selected product within your existing finance course, lab or CFA® subject-practice program. Faculty retain responsibility for teaching, grading and academic credit.

  1. 01

    Map the course

Choose a topic and an observable outcome: price a bond, explain an option strategy, compare portfolios, defend an equity valuation or investigate a settlement exception. Select the corresponding analyzer or CapitalBOS activity.

  2. 02

    Prepare the instructor

Before assigning work, have the instructor run the activity, check assumptions and expected outputs, and prepare a debrief. Use the downloadable examples as a starting point; confirm product orientation and support arrangements with CapitalWave.

  3. 03

    Set up the cohort

Confirm the chosen product's instructor permissions, cohort enrollment method and account requirements. Test access on university devices, agree class dates and provide students with clear joining and submission instructions.

  4. 04

    Run, assess and debrief

Use a baseline calculation or case, then change an assumption or introduce an exception. Review the reasoning and evidence collected, not only the final answer. Apply your course's own grading policy.

A practical course pattern

Introduce the concept in class, assign an individual or small-group activity, then compare explanations in a debrief. The sample-activity pack supplies assumptions, expected outputs and discussion prompts for all five products.

Assessment evidence

For the selected product, inspect available lab or assessment records, learner progress, debriefs and exports during the demonstration. Agree which records faculty need and how they will retain or transfer them into their assessment process.

Licensing and responsibilities

Plan annual institutional licensing.

Request an annual license proposal for the products and academic use you need. Prices, start and end dates, access rights and renewal terms are confirmed in writing; an academic year and a twelve-month access period should not be assumed to be identical.

Products and participants

Specify departments, courses, student numbers, instructors, cohorts and expected concurrent use. Confirm whether multiple terms or departments share the agreed scope.

Access and renewal

Agree the license period, cohort turnover, access after a course ends, renewal process and any retained learner records. Individual alumni access requires its own confirmed arrangement.

Preparation and support

Confirm onboarding, instructor orientation, support contacts and response expectations. Record privacy, accessibility, procurement and any requested integration requirements before acceptance.

Prepare for the conversation

A proposal shaped around your use.

We will discuss the products, access period, users, and support you need. Availability and commercial terms are confirmed in your proposal.

  • How many students and instructors need access?
  • What is your academic calendar and desired access period?
  • Which reporting or procurement requirements matter?

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

How should a university begin integrating a product?

Choose one course objective, identify an observable calculation or decision, and have the instructor complete a representative activity. Confirm access and cohort arrangements, prepare joining instructions and expected evidence, then pilot the activity before wider course use.

Related information

Can a university request annual licensing?

Yes. Request an annual institutional proposal specifying products, student and instructor numbers, courses, cohorts and expected concurrent use. Confirm exact start and end dates, cohort turnover, support and renewal terms in writing. An academic year is not automatically a twelve-month access period.
